It's been a few years since I listened to the original version of this song. Almost immediately, I knew I wanted to update the track because my taste in producing music changed. Though I started working vocals onto the original instrumental track, I eventually ended up rebuilding the entire song from scratch to place more emphasis on the drums and giving the song a real back n' forth response kinda feel to it. This track is extended, double the vocals and even an echo retro soulful vocal can be heard during parts of the song. That was completely unplanned but, at the time of recording it, I started wondering what would Marvin Gaye do if he could sprinkle some of his magic into it. Hope you enjoy what you hear. This is a track meant to get a crowd into the spirit of the new year and beyond!
