Don't let the title mislead you to thinking it should be "Fa La La La-Laaa". The inspiration behind this track had nothing to do with this classic. December had just begun, Chicago was hit with it's first series of snowfall when I arrived early to the music room toying around with some ideas. The starting ideas of this song felt "Christmas" like to me so although I didn't have any specific lyrics that made sense, I would be humming what I wanted to sing until the chorus part came up where I was naturally singing the "la la la" parts. A few days later, when I worked on finessing the song, the lyrics started coming to me when I thought a lot about how I personally felt about the holidays and the kind of attitudes I'd mostly seen thanks to the tumultuous atmosphere & influence of #45.
